Most people know when the iron is hot, but do they strike? I know it is my time. I know that now, right now is the time for me to pursue and do the things I believe I have been called to do.
I am ready to fully pursue certain goals I have left on my list. One is to get my PhD.d in Psychology. It doesn't make since for me not to pursue that path. I've been reluctant because I didn't now whether I would be in Louisville, but my daughter has made some choice that make it irresistible to leave, so I will pursue my Masters here.
My time is now.

MYOB
It is important to mind your own business. People love to know about others, but often refuse to deal with their own problems.
Mind your own business today.

Comfortable?
LIFE 101
"The result of honoring the comfort zone too much, too often: a sense of deadness; a feeling of being trapped in a life not of our desiring, doing things not of our choosing, spending time with people not of our liking. The answer to all of this? Do it. Feel the fear, and do it anyway. Physically move to accomplish those things you choose."
Take control of your life. Choose to do YOU!

Keeping It Real
I work with young adults between 15 and 20 years younger than me. Some of them have picked up on my ability to read human behavior and the keen understanding I have of human nature.
I told them, "Listen, it really is no big deal. I have lived almost half a century. I should know something by now."
They are astonished by my ability to not truly care what other people think of me, especially if that means I have to go along to get along, hide from the truth, or beat around the bush. "The same thing people love about you Ms. Hall, is the same thing they hate about you. That has to be rough."Yes, it can be, but I'd rather have it like that than any other way.
My 30th High School Reunion is coming up in July. I pulled out my scrapbook and began reading the comments people wrote about me 30 years ago. Tears came to my eyes as I read things like, "Stay as real as you are and you will go far." "You are and will always be a woman. No one deals with smut with the style and grace like you do." "You are definitely not a person who is afraid to be herself. I guess that is a good thing. Especially for you. You should go far."
My boyfriend's mother wrote, "Stay as you are and never become a phony baloney."
Another friend wrote, "You are cool, calm and collected." All of the comments had to do with how much of a REAL person I seemed and how I seemed not to care what others thought of me.
Even back then, I had an idea of who I was and where I wanted to go and people recognized it. Today, fully grown and understanding myself more than ever, I am still told how real I am, how down-to-earth I am, and how open and honest I can be. It feels good to know I have not strayed from what I always knew to be true, nobody can be you but you.

From Which I Receive My Help
"People are not always loyal and grateful....gratitude is rare, we must get used to living only for God and to expect thanks only from Him." St. Mary Euphrasia
This is so true and so hard to do. Because we are human and of flesh, it makes it hard for us to live only for God, who is of spirit. We have to dig deep within ourselves to live only for God. We must relinquish our need to have others be there for us and grateful that we are there for them. We must do what we do because we know it is right and in line with what God mandates for us all.
Once I really understood the above quote, I was no longer unhappy with the way my marriage turned out. I understood I was to do what I had done and continue to do what I feel is right in the marriage. It has been very hard to perservere during many of the circumstances and situations that have presented themselves during my 25 year relationship with my husband.
He has not shown me the respect or love I would have hoped for, but what did happen for me is I grew to understand I didn't need it from him as much, when I learned to love myself more and appreciate my ability to love him despite his inability to love me. I do believe this is what God wants from us, especially in our marriages. Whether he loved me or not, my need for love drove me to find the greatest love of all, love of self.
So many people get married thinking they will be completed in some way. Marriage is just the beginning. Whatever completion of self that happens, happens when one learns to love themselves, not by being loved by someone else.
Lean on your faith in times of dispair. Be honest with yourself and open up to the possibility that if you are unhappy it may because you haven't learned to appreciate, be loyal to and love yourself.

Live Your Life
I got bamboosled into looking at the movie New Moon. It wasn't long before I was hit with the truth about the movie. It is just another jacked up romance story sucking the life out of love.
The main female character is a throwback from a time that never should have been. She seemed to be an independant sort, but all it took was a display of manly prowess and off she was in love with someone who could not risk loving her. He left her and she lost what little identity she had, then turned to the next unavailable man to lick her wounds.
It made me sick.
Please women, learn to live your life before you are so willing to turn it over to someone else.
